There are some things that just don't need saying...!!

Dec just needs to hope that this image doesn't surface when least expected....

...such as a christening!

...or an interview for that dream job!

...or at Dale Winton's next house party

Saturday 27th April

Norton Athletic Reserves

v.

Pakefield Re-United

Lost 6 - 5

End of an era draws in with "Comedy Show" at End-of-term Party at Norton Subcourse!! Season finale sees "Last Men Standing" smiling in the sun!!

Still a few things to settle but form did say 3rd place for Pakefield at the end of a season of two halfs ...but points in the bag may still be worth something!! ...and no more cliches from "The Editor" as he hands on to fresh blood!!

Boris says farewell...

Over the last four seasons it has been a pleasure to be playing (used in a Boris sense...) for Pakefield Re-United and to have been part of so many memories with such a great bunch of lads; even when hugely taking the proverbial it's never been without the hint of a smile being visible. Certainly over the last two seasons I have enjoyed running this website, sharing my version of events and putting together the start of a club history that seems to have gone down well, and has generated a fair few hits over the last three months in particular. However, just a few memories that will linger longer than most...

  • Travelling down to Ipswich in that first season and the appearance of "Side Show Bob" who was felled with an awful cry as we entered extra time; thanks for the sympathy but I'm sure my header back towards Dec in the earlier round had something to do with it - I lay claim to the best miss by a Pakefield Re-United player....ever!
  • "Mark's" appearance in the game against Oulton Broad & Notley's last year that really sealed the psychiatric case on the schizophrenic player that had taken over the goalkeeper's role for the team; not noted for athleticism and reaction saves it was the first time I felt, he felt, we felt...that a game had pivoted on a series of saves.
  • Waddling out to play in the last game of the season against Crusader's with an ankle that was basically in a cast, enough medication to fell an elephant and enjoying the fun of mix and match with the positions for the first time; a reprieve of which saw the "Best" performance by a Pakefield centre-half ever - well done Fergie!!
  • Any number of "Borisisms"; Norton on the bounce, tree felling at Bungay, kicking - full stop...take your pick!
  • Yet more issues with the medication as "Sea Bass" was added to the list of characters yet even that wasn't the last of them...
  • ...and finally two games this year when I felt I'd made it as far as I could physically go, back killing me all through the week, dihydrocodeine before the game and knowing I should be stopping, you call alled me MoM, I know I fuss but you didn't need to get that personal!

Thanks for your support, thanks for your tolerance, thanks for your friendship and thanks for the memories, Michael and Richard even believe there dad might be able to play football but the're forgiven for the rose coloured glasses, all the best for the future!
